Quilts are my candy!

Hi. I’m Alex Stein and I am addicted to fabric. I truly believe there is no better gift than the vibrant colors of a unique and cozy quilt. It can provide warmth and comfort, and serves as a reminder of just how much you are loved. The care that goes into the color selection, design, piecing and overall construction of a one-of-a-kind, original design make a handmade quilt the most thoughtful of gifts.

I’ve spent much of the last ten plus years developing my skills by making gifts for friends and family to celebrate weddings, births, housewarmings and even an 85th AND 90th birthday!

Through the years people have asked, “Do you sell them?” The answer was always no. Now I’m finally ready to say YES.

My quilting obsession began more than 10 years ago when I entered a quilt shop with a friend and bought fabric for a quilt before I even knew how to sew. We were sewing pen pals and motivated each other through that first finish. The soft textures, bright colors and general comfort drew me in and kept me hooked.

I live in northern Italy and travel back to the States for at least a month each year. Outside of quilting, I’m a bike guide on Lake Como by day. In my free time I can be found enjoying the outdoors, and snuggling dogs.
