Working Together on your Custom Quilt

A Bunny Bear Quilt is a lifelong gift. It is a way to bring brightness and comfort to someone as they look to life ahead. BBQs have been given as gifts for many occasions; weddings, new arrivals, graduations, new homes, and get well gifts to name a few. With each gift, the recipient can look to the future wrapped in your love and support, brightened by your thoughtful gift of snuggly color. Work with me to design the perfect gift together.

Personalizing

Do you have a vision for a quilt? It may be a color combination, a specific design, or both. We can work together to build your dream quilt. From you, I’ll collect preferences on color and fabric, patchwork pattern, and quilting patterns. Start by reviewing the gallery for color combinations and designs that you like.

Timing

Quilting takes time. From color choice and fabric acquisition, to patchwork construction and quilting (bringing the quilt top, batting and backing together into a warm cozy quilt), creating a quilt is a hands-on and detailed process. You can expect that it will take about 3 to 5 months to create your one-of-a-kind quilt from start to finish. Let’s plan ahead so that we can meet your timing needs.

Each custom quilt starts with a conversation. I encourage you to put some thought into what you want before we talk. To help you plan, here are some things I will ask you:

  • What do you dream the quilt will be used for?

  • What size do you want?

  • What color(s) excite you? You may have a color theme in mind already, or you can look to the Gallery for inspiration.

  • Do you have a vision for the fabrics? All solids? All patterns? A mix? Florals?

  • Is there anything you definitely don’t want? Stripes? Polka dots? Florals?

  • Do you have a design in mind? If not, are there designs in the gallery that you like? What parts of them do you like?

Average quilt sizes follow and can be adjusted if desired.

  • Baby 36" x 36"

  • Throw 50" x 65"

  • Twin 70" x 90"

  • Queen 90" x 108"

  • King 110" x 110"

Pricing

Once we talk, I will provide a few digital mock-ups. We can discuss further and narrow down to the design that excites you. From there, I will send an invoice for an initial deposit that covers the cost of fabrics (usually $100-300 depending on quilt size) and an estimate of the anticipated price of the completed quilt. I will share progress along the way. When the quilt is complete, I will send you a final invoice for payment before shipping. Base price for each size:

  • Baby $400

  • Throw $700

  • Twin $900

  • Queen $1400

  • King $2000
