After a lifetime of honing her skills as a goalie, Maggie was at her peak. She completed her collegiate ice hockey career with an extraordinary save rate. In acknowledgment of the hours of training, the early morning wake ups, and her intense focus, Jim sought to celebrate his eldest granddaughter with something deserving. He came to me to design her a “Varsity Blanket” gift in honor of her collegiate graduation and in recognition of her athletic achievements. 

We traded ideas, finally landing on a concept inspired by the ice rink that has been Maggie’s home since she started skating at age 5. We chose fabrics to add texture, and quilting stitches that fed off of the details of Maggie’s beloved sport. 

Presenting her with her very own Bunny Bear Quilt, Jim used this gift to celebrate the qualities in his granddaughter that she found on the ice and that he hopes she will carry with her always.  He hopes the quilt will be a reminder that gives her confidence and comfort in herself and her abilities.
