A Thoughtful Island Home

Julie is taking a thoughtful approach to her new Island home. She is working with artists she knows and local artists in Washington state to decorate the home.

With views of the mountains and the Strait from Sequim, there is a lot of inspiration surrounding her. She enlisted me to bring a little bit of nature and some childlike fun to the room that will one day sleep her grandchildren.

Given the number of wild birds in the area, Julie was drawn to the “Birds of a Feather” pattern by Gingerberry Quilts. Her attraction to greens, blues and teals formed a rich color palette, perfect for children. A little bit of hummingbird quilting rounded out the design on this bold, solid-fabric quilt and we are both so pleased with the end result. Thanks to Splitting Stitches Quilting for fabulous work on the finishes, and PreQuilt for helpful tools in getting to the right color palette.
